Fire Danger: High - Details

  Cashmere Founders Day 2009

Come out to the Cashmere Founders Day Parade on June 27! Also, the Cashmere Fire Department will provide a water display on Saturday at the Fire Station. We will NOT be selling hamburgers and hotdogs this year.

Outdoor Cooking Safety Reminders

  • Before using a grill, check the connection between the propane tank and the fuel line. Make sure all tubes are not blocked.
  • Be careful when using lighter fluid. Do not add fluid to an already lit fire because the flame can travel up into the container and explode.
  • Never grill/barbecue in enclosed areas - carbon monoxide could be produced.
  • Dispose of hot coals properly - douse them with plenty of water, and stir them to ensure that the fire is out.
  • Do not overfill the propane tank.

Apple Blossom 2009

A group of Cashmere Firefighters will be at Orondo and Washington Street in Wenatchee for the Apple Blossom Parade, stop by and see them.

Wildland Training and Apparatus

Summer is right around the corner and CFD is gearing up for it. We’ve got a group of our newest firefighters taking a full S-190 (Wildland Fire Behavior) Red Card class, and almost everyone else taking a Red Card refresher class. We also have a group going through the S-215 (Fire Operations in the Wildland/Urban Interface) class.

In addition to the three training classes going currently we also have a new brush truck. Brush 22 will be ready this summer giving us an additional resource to fight upcoming wildland fires.
